Position: Lakeview Elementary Instructional Aide

Hours for this position will be 8:30 AM – 3:45 PM (5 hours, 45 minutes)

Rate of Pay: According to MESPA Agreement, Article 21 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of successful experience as an

aide in a classroom, or equivalent experience* in a human resource field and be recommended by

an administrator who has supervised the work of the aide for at least one year.



High school graduate or equivalent, with advanced training in a community college or a degree

granting institution whose special education instruction aide-training program has been approved

by the Michigan Department of Education.


1. Ability and willingness to be on the floor, lift and position students, carry out feeding,

health, hygiene, toileting and other required routines.

2. Ability and willingness to assist in instructional, intense physical and behavioral

management support as directed by teacher and/or therapist(s).

3. Ability and willingness to participate in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Handle With

Care training.

4. Knowledge and ability to use the latest in assistive technology.

5. Energetic, warm personality, ability to relate to children and parents, good communication

skills, sincere interest in children, polite, courteous and tactful.

* Equivalent experience: A minimum of 18 months of experience in a human service field,

e.g., education, mental health, social services, rehabilitation, health care, etc. which includes

experience with handicapped persons. Applicant must submit written documentation regarding

the job responsibilities and period of employment from the respective employer(s). The

Superintendent will determine all decisions regarding equivalent experience.

The Negaunee Public School District is seeking applicants for the following on-call, substitute position: Custodians.

 Information is available at the Administrative Offices located at 101 South Pioneer Avenue in Negaunee or call 475-4156.





Negaunee Public Schools will be accepting applications for Substitute School Bus Drivers.

Applicants will be required to meet all of the state, federal and school district position requirements listed below:

– Class B (or A) CDL License

– Air Brake, Passenger and School Bus Endorsements

– Physical Examination, including a Drug Screen

– Criminal Records Check

– Fingerprinting

– Beginning Bus Driver Workshop
